The 100th Day......it is a BIG deal!

I’m still in a little *shock* that the 100th day of school has come and gone.  The kids were SO excited about the momentous milestone that they just couldn’t contain themselves......and I was pretty excited too!

To be honest,  for the first few years of my teaching career, I didn't think the 100th day of school was all that.  I mean sure...it was special, but I didn't invest much time in planning because I guess I didn't think it was THAT big of a deal.  Oh, how I was wrong!   As the years passed, I realized I was missing out on a pretty cool celebration.  I started to become a bit more intentional with planning the days' festivities.

Here’s just a little peek at some of the fun we had!  It really was a perfect day!

What would you do if you lived in a snowglobe?

What would you do if you lived in a snow globe?  This was one of our writing prompts this week.   We read a cute story called The Snow Globe Family.   It was a great book to lead into this cute writing project.  Students brainstormed what they would do if they were stuck and lived inside a snow globe.  I got some really creative answers.   The students said they would build a snowman, go sledding, snuggle up and watch TV, make hot chocolate, make snow angels, or have a snowball fight.   Students then attached their writing to a snow globe with their own picture inside.  These cute snow globes are hanging outside in the hall way.  Stop by and take a look!

Next week we will be all about the number 100!  Stay tuned to see the AWESOME 100 day posters and projects we will be making.
